Directions
From Macomb:
Starting at the intersection of West Jackson (US-136) and Wigwam
Hollow Road (which has a Casey's gas station on one corner and
Brenner Furniture on the other) drive west on US-136 approximately
11 miles and turn south (left) on IL-61 and proceed about 9 miles
to Plymouth. When the highway makes a left hand curve in town
to the south, turn west (right) at the corner where Ma & Pa's
Cafe is located. Go 4 blocks west on Summer Street to 201 West
Summer Street. There is a sign in the front yard by the driveway
in which you may park.
From St.
Louis Lambert Airport: Go west on I-70 to Wentzville, MO.
and turn north (right) on US-61 to Hannibal, MO. At the intersection
of US-61 and US-36, turn east (right) on US-36 and cross the Mississippi
River into Illinois. Bear to the left off US-36 onto I-172 and
go north toward Quincy, IL. I-172 becomes 336 and you will continue
on it to the end of the 4-lane which becomes IL-94. Two miles
from the end of the four lane there will be a sign to Denver on
county road 650 N where you will turn east (right). Plymouth is
approximately 11 miles east of IL-94. Turn south (right) on to
Lexington Street (by the Methodist Church) and go one block to
Plymouth Rock Roost. There is a sign in the front yard and you
may park in the front driveway. It is approximately 160 miles
from the airport to Plymouth and is all 4-lane except the last
12 miles.
From Carthage:
At the east edge of Carthage on US-136 turn south (right) onto
IL-94 and proceed approximately 9 miles to county road 650 N (marked
with a sign saying Denver) and turn east (left). Plymouth is approximately
11 miles east of IL-94. Turn south (right) on to Lexington Street
(by the Methodist Church) and go one block to Plymouth Rock Roost.
There is a sign in the front yard and you may park in the front
driveway.
From Plymouth
to Nauvoo: Go west on county road 650 N about 11 miles to
IL-94. Turn north (right) on IL-94 about 9 miles to US-136 at
Carthage. Turn west (left) on US-136 about 12 miles to Hamilton
and turn north (right) on IL-96 for about 11 miles to Nauvoo.
The drive from Hamilton to Nauvoo follows the Mississippi River,
which is over a mile wide in that area. It has several scenic
roadside parks to pull off and enjoy the view of the river and
the waterfowl. It is one of the most scenic drives in Illinois.
