Plymouth Area News for the week of July 30th, 2018 by Joyce Steiner

Just a reminder that Living Faith United Methodist Church in Bowen will have the Back Pack and School Supply give away on Sunday, August 5th from 2-4 pm.  All students in the Southeastern School District are welcome to came to the church and pick up school supplies.
Vacation Bible School is the week of August 6th through the 10th.  Times are from 5:30-8 pm.  Children from Pre K – 6th grades are welcome.  Dinner will be served before the various events.  Should be a good time for the children!
Well I spent the majority of my birthday having the brakes and tires worked on on my van.  Probably not the way I would have chosen to spend the day so took full advantage of the WEEK.  Tuesday went to Quincy to stock up the antique mall and have lunch at the Golden Corral.  Love that place.  Very good most of the time.
Wednesday, Ed Newton and I went to the Hotel Nauvoo for dinner to celebrate my birthday.  Saturday my niece and nephew, Marcella Hardin and Roger Steiner, took me to the Hotel Nauvoo to celebrate my birthday.  Roger also brought me 6 lovely Asiatic lilies as he knows that I love flowers.  Even got a carriage ride after dinner.  Thanks to every one who remembered my birthday.  Was cute today when one of our church members actually figured out which birthday it was.  I do not tell every one.  Thing is there are a lot of us at church who are about the same age.  We are all “well preserved”, at least in my opinion.
Haley Dixon stopped by the store on Friday.  Always good to see her.  We are always plotting ways to improve Plymouth.
Had lunch at K D’s Coop.  So did a lot of other people.  Good group from Living Faith there.
Am currently training Smokey to be a store kitty.  I put him in a carrier and take him to the store every day.  As he was tossed out up town, he is used to being free on the Square.  The first night I tried to get him back in the carrier, he refused to be caught.  I just left him in the store and went back about 10 pm.  By then he was ready to get in the carrier and come home.  He and Herald are sharing a kitty house in the evening to keep them safe.  Smokey has a great personality and thus far everyone who comes in wants to love on him.  I know that Treasurer’s has a store kitty and that he is well loved.
My garden is producing some really nice tomatoes.  The birds also have been enjoying them.
We had such a nice rain today.  It came slowly and I am sure every drop soaked into the ground.  Thank you Lord.
Hope you had a good week and that you will enjoy the week ahead.  Scatter Kindness.
